PanARMENIAN.Net - Babken Tunyan, MP from the Civil Contract faction, stated that Armenia could begin exporting goods to Azerbaijan within the next one to two months. He made the comment in response to a question about why imports are currently flowing only from Azerbaijan to Armenia.

Tunyan said that trade is not directly conducted with Azerbaijan, but with other countries using Azerbaijan as a transit route. Previously, such transit was not possible, but now the opportunity exists, according to a report by Auroranews.am .

He added that Armenian exports may start soon, depending on market demand. Potential export items include metallic and foil-based products, as well as certain types of foodstuffs.

Tunyan said that the government does not dictate which goods should be imported or exported. These decisions are driven by business demand and mutual interest.

He further noted that when a competitive price-quality offer exists on the market, businesses independently decide whether to purchase or sell the product.

In November 2025, a Russian grain shipment reached Armenia via Azerbaijan and Georgia. Russia's Ministry of Transport announced plans to send an additional 132 grain wagons by the end of January 2026.

In recent months, two shipments of petroleum products were imported from Azerbaijan to Armenia: 1,300 tons of A95 gasoline arrived via Ayrum station on December 19, 2025, and another shipment was reported on January 9.

On February 3, it was reported that Russian grain wagons had reached Armenia after transiting through Azerbaijan.
