PanARMENIAN.Net - During their meeting in Abu Dhabi, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev welcomed the progress made in implementing agreements reached at the Peace Summit in Washington, hosted and witnessed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining and deepening the positive dynamic in the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, especially through bilateral engagement.
The leaders noted that the people of both countries are "already feeling the real benefits of peace in their daily lives." They expressed satisfaction over the start of bilateral trade, the ongoing supply of petroleum products from Azerbaijan to Armenia, and the transit of grain and other goods from third countries.
They agreed to continue exploring opportunities to expand mutual economic cooperation.
Pashinyan and Aliyev also positively assessed reciprocal visits by civil society representatives, and concurred on the need to deepen confidence-building measures.
The two leaders reviewed the implementation status of TRIPP and other infrastructure projects. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting peace and stability between Armenia and Azerbaijan and agreed to maintain direct contact to ensure continuous progress in the normalization process.
Pashinyan and Aliyev arrived in the United Arab Emirates on February 4 to receive the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity.
