Afghanistan pushes forward infrastructure projects in current fiscal year

KABUL, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan has reported ongoing progress on development projects in four major Afghan cities for the current fiscal year, with the combined value of initiatives reaching 2.34 billion afghanis (over 35 million U.S. dollars), the official media Bakhtar news agency reported Friday.

According to the report, the planned projects include 79 in Herat, 61 in Mazar-i-Sharif, 34 in Jalalabad, and 26 in Kandahar. The projects focus on improving roads, drainage systems, public facilities, and other city services.

The Afghan government emphasized that these development efforts aim to improve urban infrastructure and meet essential public needs.
