PanARMENIAN.Net - At the 32nd OSCE Ministerial Council, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that the current period marks the most stable and calm phase in Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.

"Significant progress has been made toward peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, reaching its highest point thanks to the historic Washington peace summit held on August 8," said Bayramov, as reported by APA.

He noted that both sides have begun implementing specific initiatives at governmental, parliamentary, and civil levels.

Bayramov said that Azerbaijan, as "the initiator of the peace agenda, remains firmly committed to this path and expects reciprocal, responsible decisions from Armenia."

He added that "removal of territorial claims from Armenia's Constitution would allow the signing and subsequent ratification of the already initialed bilateral agreement, paving the way to lasting peace."

Bayramov further announced that Azerbaijan has unilaterally lifted restrictions on Armenian transit trade as a step to encourage the peace process.

"These developments clearly demonstrate that direct bilateral negotiations are the most effective way forward," he said.

He also stressed the importance of the timely implementation of the Trump Route project, a multimodal corridor involving rail, highways, and other links that will directly connect Azerbaijan's mainland with the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic. Bayramov stated that "this would benefit not only Azerbaijan but also Armenia", noting that the "reopening of regional communications supports peace and offers broad economic advantages."

On August 8, during a trilateral summit at the White House, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a joint declaration summarizing the meeting's results.

During the summit, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov initialed the "Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan" in the presence of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the U.S.
