Uzbekistan-Belarus trade rises by 25 pct in 2025

TASHKENT, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Belarus increased by 25 percent last year, the press service of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said in a statement on Tuesday.

The statement was issued after Mirziyoyev met with Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin on Tuesday, who is on an official visit to Uzbekistan.

According to the statement, bilateral trade rose by 25 percent in 2025, reaching nearly 1 billion U.S. dollars, and cooperation between leading enterprises in priority sectors has continued to expand.

"The high level of cooperation achieved, particularly in the trade and economic sphere, was noted with satisfaction," said the statement.

The importance of shaping a new economic agenda through the promotion of joint projects in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, the textile and food industries, agriculture and other sectors was emphasized, it added.
