Hoping to reverse its fortunes in the Call of Duty League, the Seattle Surge revealed the players it will lean on in 2022 via a dramatic video on social media.
Opening with the Surge logo emerging from rough seas amid a storm, the video posted to Twitter goes on to announce a starting lineup that will consist of Lamar "Accuracy" Abedi, Makenzie "Mack" Kelley, Amer "Pred" Zulbeari of Australia and Daunte "Sib" Gray.
On Friday, the Surge named Sam "Fenix" Spencer as head coach and Brandon "Novus" Hewitt as general manager.
The Surge finished ninth in CDL play in 2021 with a 11-25 record and are 16-43 combined over the last two seasons. In August, the team released its entire roster of players and coaches.
Accuracy and Mack each spent the last two seasons with the New York Subliners. Pred comes to the Surge after participating in the Asia Pacific region for parts of the past two seasons, while Sib was in a substitute role with the Atlanta FaZe but never saw CDL action.
While the 2022 CDL schedule has yet to be released, the season is expected to begin in late January or early February, with an August finish.
