KABUL, April 30 (Xinhua) -- Nine Taliban militants have been killed in clashes in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defense confirmed on Friday.
In eastern Laghman province, three militants were killed and four others wounded after the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) targeted militants in Kohna, a locality in Alishing district, on Thursday, the ministry said in a statement.
Some militants' weapons and ammunition were also destroyed, according to the statement.
In western Ghor province, six Taliban militants were killed after a roadside bomb they were planting along a district road exploded prematurely in Qabristan village, Taywara district, on Thursday, the statement added.
The Taliban insurgent group, which has been waging an insurgency for more than two decades, has not commented on the incidents.
