TEHRAN, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- A senior security official of Iran said Wednesday that the Islamic republic will not recognize any group seeking to seize power by war in Afghanistan, official IRNA news agency reported.

The remarks were made by Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani in a meeting with the visiting head of the Taliban delegation Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar in Tehran.

Shamkhani said that the U.S. strategy is "to continue conflict and bloodshed among different groups in Afghanistan" as it is not seeking peace and security for Afghanistan.

He also called for participation of all Afghan parties in a political process to determine Afghanistan's fate.

The Taliban delegation arrived in Iran on Tuesday for talks with Iranian officials. Iran has said that presence of U.S. forces in the regional states is a security threat to the country.
