Uzbekistan's GDP grows by 1.6 pct in 2020

TASHKENT, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Uzbekistan's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 1.6 percent in 2020, the Uzbek State Committee on Statistics said Wednesday.

The nation's GDP per capita in current prices amounted to 1,685 U.S. dollars in 2020, decreasing by 0.3 percent on the previous year, it said.

Last year, the country saw a 0.7 percent increase in industrial growth, while the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors registered 3 percent growth and the construction sector grew by 9.2 percent.

Additionally, the trade and services industry posted 0.1 percent growth, according to the committee.
