BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

NEW DELHI -- India's COVID-19 tally reached 9,499,413 on Wednesday as 36,604 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours, said the latest data from the federal health ministry.

According to the data, the death toll mounted to 138,122 as 501 COVID-19 patients died since Tuesday morning.

ULAN BATOR -- Mongolia on Wednesday confirmed 11 more COVID-19 cases, taking the total infections in the country to 812, according to the country's National Center for Communicable Diseases.

The latest cases were locally transmitted and the patients had contact with previously confirmed cases in Mongolia's capital, Ulan Bator, and the provinces of Selenge and Orkhon, the center said in a statement.

BERLIN -- Germany has reported 17,270 new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, bringing the nation's total to 1,084,743, the federal Robert Koch Institute (RKI) said on Wednesday.

The country's death toll has increased by 487 to 17,123, the RKI's COVID-19 dashboard showed.

QINGDAO -- One new asymptomatic case of COVID-19 was found Tuesday in the city of Qingdao in east China's Shandong Province, local authorities said Wednesday.

The case came after the city reported one asymptomatic carrier on Tuesday. The newly found female carrier surnamed Li is the elder sister of the first case. They live in the same residential compound in the city of Jiaozhou.

WASHINGTON -- Florida has become the third U.S. state with more than 1 million COVID-19 cases.

There have been 1,008,166 positive cases in the "Sunshine State" as of Tuesday night after it reported 8,632 cases a day ago, according to the state's Department of Health.
