ULAN BATOR, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia reported one new COVID-19 case in the last 24 hours, taking its total cases to 298, the country's National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) said Saturday.
"A total of 625 tests for COVID-19 were conducted across the country yesterday and one of them was positive," Amarjargal Ambaselmaa, head of the NCCD's Surveillance Department, told a daily press briefing.
The latest confirmed patient is a 45-year-old Russian transport driver who has recently entered Mongolia via the Altanbulag border point, Ambaselmaa said.
Meanwhile, three more patients have recovered from the disease, taking the total recoveries in the country to 272, she added.
All the coronavirus cases in Mongolia were imported, mostly from Russia, according to the NCCD. No local transmissions or deaths have been reported in the country so far.
