Financial crisis takes another UK retailer

More casualties of the financial crisis have been announced in the UK, with one of the country's oldest clothing retailers placed in administration.

The women’s clothing group Viyella has called in the administrators after 225 years in business.

Viyella employs 450 people,

Meanwhile, Marks and Spencer has announced that it will close 27 stores across Britain and cut its workforce in London.

1,230 jobs are expected to go.
