Israeli troops begin partial withdrawal

Israeli ground troops have been withdrawing from the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Yunis.

Dozens of tanks rumbled out of the city before dawn and returned to Israel.

Israeli tanks arrived at Khan Yunis early on Tuesday morning as part of Israel's Operation Cast Lead against Hamas.

Six Israeli soldiers have died in the offensive that has killed around 600 Palestinians so far.
