Bush gives the US a unique national park
Azerbaijan News.Net Tuesday 6th January, 2009
The world's largest marine protection area has been announced under the presidency of George Bush.
Three areas in the US will be designated as national monuments, including the Mariana Trench and northern Mariana Islands, the Rose Atoll located in American Samoa, and a chain of remote islands in the central Pacific.
Rare fish and bird species, coral reefs and underwater volcanoes will be protected in an area spanning some 505,000 square kilometres in the Pacific Ocean.
The world's largest protected area currently is the Phoenix Island Protected Area, which was established in 2008 by the South Pacific nation of Kiribati.
The last time Mr Bush announced a marine protection area was in 2006, when he declared 363,000 square kilometres of Pacific Ocean near the north-western Hawaiian islands. Email this story to a friend

Bush gives the US a unique national park
no doubt cause there is no oil or oil pipeline potential, or money making resources in those areas. but fair play for at least doing 1 good thing these last 8 years!

You've got to be kidding, StuCrew
Stu,
You must be being sarcastic and the only indication is your use of quotation marks.
For your sake, I hope so. If not, you’ve given me my LOL moment of the day.
Thanks,
Brad

What Planet?
What planet have you been on for 8 years? There is so much “good” that Mr. Bush has done that he rivals George Washington as the most influential president in history. Unless you only get your news from socialist appeasers, you should know these things.
