Amputee footballers to take part in Uzbekistan meet

Lagos, July 5 (Xinhua) Eight players and two officials of the Amputee Football Association of Nigeria (AFAN) will participate in the Uzbekistan 2008 Cup of Independence beginning, July 14.

The coach of the football association Gbenga Dosumu said in Lagos Friday that the championship would expose the players to international meets.

He said the team had started training to ensure that a formidable team is presented at the championship.
