Kazakhstan, U.S. to strengthen strategic partnership

Kazakhstan and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their strategic partnership, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday. Kazakh Foreign Minister Kanat Saudabayev met with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during an official two-day visit to the United States which began on Tuesday. The sides expressed satisfaction in the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation and stressed the importance of fulfilling the agreements reached by the two leaders of the two countries in April 2010. Clinton and Saudabayev also noted the progress made in bilateral talks on Kazakhstan's accession to the World Trade Organization. Kazakhstan submitted its application for WTO membership in 1996.
