PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkish and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers held a two-hour meeting focused on the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) framework agreement.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, speaking at a press conference, emphasized the strategic importance of the "Zangezur corridor", describing it as critical both for the Middle Corridor project and as a link between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchvan Autonomous Republic, APA reports.

Fidan said he discussed the TRIPP initiative, introduced during the Armenian Foreign Minister's recent visit to Washington, with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. He highlighted that special attention was given to Baku's interests and confirmed that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoan has been briefed on the matter.

"During the Armenian Foreign Minister's visit to Washington, a framework document on TRIPP was published. My esteemed colleague Jeyhun Bayramov and I held two-hour discussions on this matter. Azerbaijan's perspectives are important to us. President Erdoan has also been informed," Fidan stated.

He added that Turkey supports the signing of a final peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, noting that Ankara is ready to normalize relations with Yerevan.

"There is a willingness from both Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as from Armenia," Fidan concluded.

Earlier, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio signed a non-binding framework document in Washington outlining Armenia-U.S. cooperation under the TRIPP initiative.
